Revitalization of Prague Riverside

We are embarking on an ambitious project to rejuvenate the Prague embankment along the left bank of the Vltava River, envisioning a transformation into a vibrant and accessible public space. Despite its historical significance and presence of notable landmarks, the current area is hindered by heavy traffic and limited public accessibility.

Our revitalization strategy revolves around a comprehensive three-part approach. Firstly, we aim to breathe new life into the surroundings of the Civic Swimming Pool, enhancing its appeal as a recreational hub. Secondly, we plan to improve the iron pier and implement traffic calming measures along the lower embankment, thereby creating a more pedestrian-friendly environment that seamlessly connects with the expansive Letna Park. Thirdly, our focus extends to enhancing the area around an ancient water tunnel, enriching its historical significance and integrating it into the broader cultural and recreational fabric of the city.

Key to our vision is the creation of a new upper-level promenade that will elegantly link these revitalized sections of the embankment. This promenade will not only provide pedestrians with a scenic pathway along the river but also serve as a vital connector between the embankment and Letna Park. By facilitating easier access between these areas, we aim to enhance the overall connectivity of the embankment with the city and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

In terms of infrastructure improvements, our proposal includes reducing car lanes to prioritize pedestrians and cyclists, expanding green spaces to promote relaxation and leisure activities, and introducing dedicated bike paths to encourage sustainable modes of transport. These enhancements are designed not only to beautify the embankment but also to foster a sense of community and encourage more people to explore and enjoy this historically rich and culturally significant part of Prague.

Ultimately, our goal is to create a dynamic and inviting public space along the embankment that not only respects its historical heritage but also meets the modern-day needs of residents and visitors, contributing to a more livable and vibrant cityscape.
